A weird film with a few food hooks. It’s the torrid love story of a Budweiser Beer girl. That is a girl who dresses up in the brands colors and hawks the beer to yelping customers. It sounds unsavory but actually is common all over Asia. Anyway, she develops a love interest with a young, classically French trained chef that is down on his luck and unable to hold his beer. There is one cool cooking scene where this young chef makes duck with blood sauce. If you see my post about “Who is Killing the Great Chef’s of Europe” you will see why a scene with such a recipe would have resonance with me.
