Delicatessen 

This tastyflix falls into the ever widening category of “cannibalism”….mind you in a comic noire way.  The setting is post apocalyptic France in a broken down apartment building.  The bottom floor is a butcher shop that sells human flesh to the tenants.  Sounds gruesome but love      blossoms in this dystopia (for it conquers all…) Much of the cinematography and affect reminds me of a Terry Gilliam film-kinda future primitive if you will.  

I remember seeing this film upon its release at Liberty Hall in Lawrence KS (as a grad student there) and it has always been a recommendation I offer to people when they ask me what my favorite food movies are.
